el arranque no funciona y me sale ese mensaje reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selecd boot divice an press key que puedo hacer,..,,

Verifica que en la BIOS te reconozca el Disco Duro. Si lo reconoce, pero aún así no arranca, reinstala la Windows XP, pero indicándole que sólo repare la ya instalada para que te respete los documentos y otras aplicaciones instaladas.
